Cue Card 1
Describe an indoor game that you used to play as a child. Please say
- What is this game?
- When and where did you play it?
- With whom did you play it?

I used to play Hide and Seek quite often. At that time we didn't have luxury of any gaming gadgets and we were also not aware with other sporting games because of less exposure of media where I lived during childhood. However, I really enjoyed Hide and seek very much. Initially I started playing with my neighbours' children, but I couldn't  understand. So my parents taught me by playing it with me. In this game one has to go for searching the others who have been hidden while he has closed his eyes or someone has closed his eyes by putting palm on eyes. And if that player caught them all then the first who got found has to go for searching others in next turn. It really improves judgement skills and develops skills of understanding others. Such a great game and Had lots of fun. I still remember all great days of traditional sports. In these days such big houses to see is like an opportunity. But I was lucky that we had such a big house that we could play easily many indoor games like hide and seek and thief and police and others.

Discussion 1
- What other indoor games do you know?
Not many but of course playing cards and chess and business game etc.

- Do you think these are essential for children’s development?
of course to certain extent sports and games are really helpful, unless children get addicted and spend endless time

- How can games help develop critical thinking skills?
Well it depends on Game structure and your position in the game. e.g., in soccer and in cricket you have to do strategies if you are a captain, have to understand opposition considering their strength and weaknesses and same vice versa. This way it really helps in improving critical thinking
